Week 3 has come on quickly (boy has the week flown by), and we've got a quintet of games between teams from last year's playoffs, including all the teams from the AFC (J'ville @ Indy, Broncos @ Pats, Cinci @ Pittsburgh, plus Carolina @ Tampa Bay and Giants @ Seahawks). Hopefully, those matchups will yield some interesting games!
Before wasting any more time, let's get to this weeks guarantees…
This Weekend's 5 Guarantees
New England over Denver – This one may seem obvious as the Patriots hav the better record, have looked better than the struggling Broncos, are looking for revenge after last year's playoff loss and are playing at home, but…ok, so it is obvious!
Houston over Washington – May be going out on a limb here, but the Skins offense has looked completely inept so far this season. Houston's offense is beginning to mature, and even the lack of a running game shouldn't hurt them too badly here.
Cincinatti over 400yds total offense – The Steelers have a great defense, but the Bengals will come out firing and the Steelers offense isn't quite in form yet.
Jamal Lewis over 125yds rushing – Baltimore should have the ball a lot, get up early, and keep running it. Besides, Lewis has played some of his best games against the Browns.
Giants over Seahawks – Despite the addition of Deion Branch, the Giants defense should hold Seattle to few enough points for Eli Manning to lead the team to victory.
San Francisco has a chance to make a statement while hosting the Eagles this week. They had a close game against the Cardinals, and then found the win column against the Rams, but they can really make a statement about the direction that the team is going in this weeks game. While I don't think that they've come far enough to get the win, they should at least keep the game interesting.
