Well, last night the Red Wings ended the Penguins' season and claimed the Stanley Cup. I can't say they didn't deserve it, as they constantly played at a very high level, with as much skill and more discipline than the Pens were able to. It was a great series to watch, with a lot of great play on both sides, and I'm sure there are a few more fans because of it.
And I have to give the Pens fans at the game a lot of credit. Despite not getting the outcome they wanted, they still cheered the Pens, who put it all on the line, and recognized the achievement of the Red Wings. That's classy, and there's no other way to put it any better.
Now we begin looking to next season, and figuring out who stays and goes. Then Pens have a number of high-profile free agents come July 1st (which include Fleury, Hossa, Malone and Orpik), so it will be interesting to see how the roster changes in the coming months. Hopefully they can find a way to keep the core together and make another run at the Cup next year!
