So, you may remember earlier in the year when I set my goals for the year. Well, I haven’t completed them yet, but I did hit a milestone on Saturday when I checked in for my weekly weigh in at 249.o lbs.
I haven’t weighed under 250 in over 4 years!
I was ecstatic, as that means I’ve lost 18 pounds so far this year, and most of that coming since I started running consistently in June. Actually, it’s been the combination of running and a push to eat much more organic food and drastically reduce the amount of pop I was drinking (I swore off the stuff in June, and have been much more disciplined since). I’ve only got a little over 3 months left, but I’m still shooting for my goal of 30 pounds by the end of the year!
As for my other goal of running races, so far I’ve done the 4-mile Ruckus Race (see pictures below) and the Steelers 5k, have Pittsburgh’s Great Race (10k) lined up for the 30th of this month, and am eyeing up a few more races for the end of the year (with the ZooZilla 5k being the most intriguing). I’m pretty sure I’ll meet that goal as long as I stay healthy.
So, that’s the update that I’ve been excitedly waiting 2 days to share. I’m really enjoying getting back in shape, and look forward to staying that way!
